Flying Home | Thomas Bayrle
Curated by Sarah Cosulich. Artissima, International Contemporary Art Fair, on the occasion of the 2016 edition presented Flying Home, an unpublished collateral project specifically conceived for the city and created in collaboration with Turin Airport starring the great German artist Thomas Bayrle. With Flying Home, Thomas Bayrle chooses the baggage claim area to transform it into an unexpected and stimulating display space full of messages.
Through an unprecedented sequence of images, the artist reveals the construction mechanisms of the his mammoth work Flugzeug from 1984, a plane made of a million small planes on an area of 96 square meters. With this project, Artissima confirms its vocation for experimenting and creating new synergies capable of connecting the city in an innovative way. The project welcomes those who land in the city but can also be visited by non-travelers by reservation.
