The term impasse defines the dead end, the dead end road. In a broader sense, it recalls the image of a vicious circle, of a condition of unease and uncertainty apparently impossible to overcome.

It is this situation of pseudo paralysis (of the image? Of the photographic language? Of art? Of contemporary society?) The starting point of the works of Alessandro Calabrese (Trento, 1983). The artist responds to all this with creative (and re-creative) power through an exhibition that collects a selection of photographic prints and small glasses belonging to the A Failed Entertainment series (already selected in 2015 for the Foam prize in Amsterdam, then exhibited in the 2016 at MACRO in Rome and at the European Photography Festival in Reggio Emilia) and the works of his latest project, The Long Thing (2017 – ongoing).
