On the occasion of Manifesta 12, the highly successful exhibition cycle arrives in Palermo, nominated in 2018 as the capital of Italian culture. Please, gentlemen, take a seat, conceived and curated by Geraldine Blais with the support and collaboration of Marsèll. The project, dedicated to the enhancement of great artists of the past, develops as a dialogue between their cultural heritage and contemporary creatives, activating unprecedented paths within places intimately linked to the human story and the poetics of these fundamental protagonists of the recent history of the ‘art.
The Palermitan edition of Signori please take a seat is the third chapter of a story that started in Venice (Biennial Art 2015 and Architecture 2016) with two events dedicated to the figure of Carlo Scarpa. The exhibition will be articulated as a project built specifically for the city and dedicated to an artist who in Palermo has inextricably linked his life and his art: Lia Pasqualino Noto (Palermo, 1909 – Palermo, 1998) thus celebrating the twentieth anniversary of his disappearance.
