PAC PADIGLIONE D’ARTE CONTEMPORANEA | EVA MARISALDI. TRASPORTO ECCEZIONALE

PAC, Milano

Curated by Diego Sileo

Open to the public 18 December 2018 – 3 February 2019

On December 18, the PAC Pavilion of Contemporary Art reopens to the public with the personal exhibition of Eva Marisaldi, one of the most relevant artists of the generation born in the sixties towards which the PAC has chosen to direct one of the research lines of its annual programming: the promotion and enhancement of Italian contemporary art.

Promoted by the Municipality of Milan – Culture and produced by the PAC with Silvana Editoriale, the exhibition is curated by Diego Sileo and adds a further step to the artist’s research with a new reflection that starts from his first years of production and goes right up to the days ours, through a wide selection of past works and the creation of new works designed specifically for PAC spaces.

Characterized by a lyrical narrative vein, Marisaldi’s works take inspiration from reality to focus on the hidden aspects of our daily lives. Photographs, actions, performances, videos, animations, installations alternating with more traditional and artisanal techniques such as drawing and embroidery, transport us to other dimensions, where everything can happen and where everything remains suspended.

The one evoked by the title is a hypothetical, metaphorical, exceptional transport in the worlds created by Eva Marisaldi, populated by sounds, narrations, emotions, play and poetry, references to theater, cinema and literature, but also from journeys they explore with the same curiosity distant territories and complexity of the human being.

In the catalog, published by Silvana Editoriale, unpublished texts by the curator, by Emanuela De Cecco, Arabella Natalini and Elena Volpato.
