The Academy of Drawing Arts in Florence presents the work of master of contemporary Russian figurative art, the painter Andrey Esionov (Tashkent, 1963). The exhibition is curated by the critic Alexander Borovsky and will be open to the public from Tuesday 5 March to Sunday 28 April 2019.

Neo-nomads and Indigenous people is conceived in collaboration with the Russian Academy of Fine Arts and tells the changes and contradictions of a humanity in constant movement. The exhibition presents a corpus of 42 works drawn from eight different series of watercolors, which face a critical, surreal and pungent reflection on the scenario of contemporary metropolises and the humanity that populates them.

Florence will be the first stage of a cycle of personal exhibitions organized to make Esionov’s art known in Italy. The second appointment will be in Rome in September 2019, in the splendid setting of the Museum of San Salvatore in Lauro.
