PAC | Anna Maria Maiolino

PAC, Milano

From Friday 29 March to Sunday 9 June 2019

Exhibition extended until Sunday 1 September 2019

The PAC Pavilion of Contemporary Art in Milan presents O AMOR SE FAZ REVOLUCIONARIO, the first Italian exhibition in a public institution by the Italian-Brazilian artist Anna Maria Maiolino.

With a selection of over 300 works ranging from the drawings of a very young Maiolino – art student in Caracas – to his latest creations, the exhibition curated by Diego Sileo is configured as the widest retrospective of the artist ever made so far . A unique opportunity to understand the eclectic and revolutionary path of an artist who managed to blend Italian creativity and the experimentation of the Brazilian avant-garde in an exemplary and inimitable style.

From March 29 to September 1, 2019 at PAC drawings, paintings, sculptures, photographs, videos and installations tell for decades an artistic story that began in the early sixties and is still vital and fertile today, capable of influencing many artists of the new generations. A site-specific installation made entirely of clay, an iconic material for the artist, will introduce the visitor to the exhibition, where for the first time he will also be able to admire his great paintings from the nineties never exhibited before.
