To celebrate the centenary of its activity, the historic Lombard company Giovanardi, specialized in the design and construction of plastic and metal displays and packaging, opens its production facilities to the public for the 10×100 contemporary art factory exhibition: an unprecedented project that born from a period of residences of ten mid-career artists.
Selected by the curators Martina Cavallarin and Marco Tagliafierro, the artists were involved and included in the company facilities between February and July 2019 to work in close dialogue with the employees, putting in use the company’s know-how for the creation of works of art.
The invited artists are: Alessandro Agudio, Marie Denis, Marotta & Russo, Jacopo Mazzetti, Daniele Milvio, Gianni Moretti, Riccardo Paratore, Riccardo Previdi, Michele Spanghero and Patrick Tuttofuoco.
The works created will be exhibited in the context in which they were conceived, alongside modern machinery and pieces of industrial archeology, developing an unusual and suggestive exhibition itinerary. At the end of the exhibition the works will remain property of the artists, in line with the patronage that fueled the whole project: supporting the artists through the production of their works and through the dialogue between two worlds, that of culture and that of business, apparently distant.
The exhibition will be accompanied by a catalog published by Silvana Editoriale.
