IPERTESTO

Ludovica + Roberto Palomba

6 December– 21 December 2019

This exhibition celebrates the twenty-fifth anniversary of Palomba Serafini Associati, founded by architects Ludovica Serafini and Roberto Palomba in Milan in 1994. The show presents unique furniture pieces designed for this occasion in collaboration with leading Italian and international design companies – CC-tapis, Ferri1956, Fiam, Foscarini, Giorgetti, Glebanite, Horm, Kartell, Lorenzon Project, Poltrona Frau, Vesta, Zanat, Zanotta – along with self-produced objects.

Ludovica and Roberto Palomba’s methodology applies to design the concept of hypertext, traditionally used in computer science to indicate a non-linear group of documents containing information of diverse nature (texts, images, music pieces, videos), interrelated by logic references and links, which allow the user to build an autonomous reading path. Similarly, the design pieces exhibited in this show are multitudes of formal and material identities, which offer visitors the possibility to connect them through their own sensitivity. Refusing any linear approach and all forms of stylism, these objects result from and originate a series of interconnected thoughts, inspirations and intuitions.

The infinite interpretations of the works designed by Ludovica+Roberto Palomba are enhanced by the display of post-war artworks in each room of the exhibition. With this project, the gallery continues creating dialogues between different creativities in a hypertextual way.
