Galleria Fumagalli | Marinus Boezem. Bird’s-eye view

Galleria Fumagalli, Milano

curated by Lorenzo Bruni

From January 23 to April 5, 2019

Galleria Fumagalli presents the first solo show in Italy since 1978 by the Dutch artist Marinus Boezem (Leerdam, 1984), recognized since the 1960s for his works of Land art, environmental art, conceptual art and process art.

The project entitled Bird’s-eye view by Marinus Boezem, curated by Lorenzo Bruni, offers a large site-specific installation made with bird feed seeds. Organic matter, animal nourishment and evoking the natural cycle of life, draws on the gallery floor the physical and conceptual space of the plan of the Basilica of San Francesco in Assisi.

Thanks also to the tree branches placed on the walls, the installation intervention transforms the architectural container into a place of suggestions in which the categories of exterior and interior, culture and nature, history and memory, reality and poetry, need to be reformulated .
